Why You Should Consider Installing Gutters on a Pavilion
Pavilions are welcome retreats from the sun. They provide plenty of shade for playgrounds, lunch areas, picnic areas, outdoor dining at restaurants, meeting areas, special events and more. They also enable you to stay dry as you spend time outdoors while it is raining, as well as provide shelter when an unexpected storm pops up. That’s why pavilions are so popular at parks, business centers and day camps.
While pavilions offer protection from the sun and rain, that protection is limited to underneath the structure. Typically pavilions have a sloped roof. As a result, rain water naturally flows down the roof, rolling off and pooling up in the surrounding area. If leaves and any other debris were sitting on the roof, they will flow off with the rain water. You can be left with a wet mess and/or flooding. And if you ever walked underneath a pavilion while it is raining, you have experienced what it is like to have water quickly pour onto your head and body!
Installing gutters and leaders will prevent these issues from happening. The gutters will collect the rain fall and the leaders will direct it to an out of the way area.
Installing Gutters on a Pavilion at a Day Camp in Spring Valley Improved Play Time
The owners of a day camp in Rockland County, New York, reached out to us to help them alleviate a water problem they consistently experienced after it rained. The camp’s pavilion was sandwiched between sets of basketball courts. Every time it rained, water pooled up near the courts, making it dangerous for the children to play on them.
After assessing the roof’s square footage and pitch, we installed six-inch seamless gutters to catch the rain water and leaders to help it flow to a more ideal location. Using seamless gutters with long runs limits joints that can leak over time. We cut the gutter runs on site, then installed them for a seamless project. By choosing a brown color, the gutters blend in with the roofing and supports. And we also installed gutter covers to reduce the need for gutter cleaning.
If you live in the Rockland County, New York or Bergen County, New Jersey area, give us a call. We’re happy to come out and assess your gutter needs and provide you with our recommendations and estimate.
We provide gutter installation, gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and gutter cover services.
